What kept me in Kingston was wanting to play football for the Gaels. I had watched them play for years. I had listened to them on the radio. I knew every inch of Richardson Stadium.
I had been in the bowels of the dressing rooms and played tag under the steps. I loved watching the Queen’s Band march onto the field and the streams of students arriving during homecoming games.
It wasn't the talk of a new stadium that kept me in Kingston, but it was the spirit, memories and character of the old Richardson Stadium that wouldn't let me leave.
