You’ll find Will at the Memorial Centre Farmers Market every Sunday standing behind a beautiful display of his produce, including his funky salad mixes named Fall Frolic, Bunny Mix and Wild Thing featuring edible flowers.
Kingston is a community that values local food, and that makes for happy farmers. The smile on Will’s face, as he answers questions about a particular variety of tomato or kale, is proof of that. It takes a lot of work to prepare and set up for a day at the market, but Will says interacting with community members who seek local produce makes it all worth it.
Will described organic farming as a “full-on commitment where attention to detail is the key to success.” But Will wouldn't have it any other way, saying “it would be easy to spray for weeds but that doesn't line up with our values. We don’t want to create chemical pollution, we care deeply about the health of the soil and we have a community of support demonstrating Kingstonians feel the same way.”
